MESA 2017 Panel Reminder
Proposals for MESA 2017 are due by February 15th. The meeting is in Washington DC from November 18-21. Please reach out to one another to forge strong panels that show case the strength of scholarship on the region. Put your best work out there. Let's highlight new ways about thinking about the Gulf, critical scholarship, new methodologies and theoretical innovation.
The MESA blind referee committee takes seriously its criteria: "Each paper abstract must be between 300 and 400 words, relate to the presented theme, and be academically strong. Paper abstracts should be scholarly, with a strong, focused statement of thesis or significance, clear goals and methodology, well-organized research data, specified sources, and convincing, coherent conclusions. These are the criteria by which the program committee will conduct its review."
There are several categories of presentation such as roundtables, thematic conversations, special or current issues, pre-organised panels (encouraged) and individual abstracts. Happy thinking!
Best Wishes,
