MEI at NUS JOB OPPORTUNITIES
THE MIDDLE EAST INSTITUTE AT THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE
JOB OPPORTUNITIES 2019
We’re hiring! The Middle East Institute aims to advance understanding of the region and to deepen engagements between it and Asia. Research, aimed at providing reasoned views to scholars, students, policymakers, businesses and the public, is a key vehicle for this effort.
MEI’s Research Clusters focus on politics, how ideas from disparate movements such as Salafism are diffused through the region and beyond, economics and business, and the law. Areas of interest within these clusters include security policy, the growing commercial links between the Middle East and Asia, and Islamic Law. Interested candidates may apply for one of the following positions:
SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW
Required qualifications include a PhD from a reputable university and more than five years’ research experience since.
Senior Research Fellows will be required to contribute regularly to our publications and other platforms, including in local and international media. Successful candidates will be asked to lead research projects and organise workshops and conferences.
RESEARCH FELLOW
Candidates must have fulfilled all the requirements of securing a PhD from a reputable university. Those who are in the process of acquiring a PhD may apply, but must fulfil the requirements before joining the staff.
Research fellows will participate in projects in their chosen clusters and those of the wider institute.
