The Association of Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies is pleased to present its 2015 PhD Dissertation Award to ANDREA WRIGHT for her exceptional historical ethnography in Migratory Pipelines: Labor and Oil in the Arabian Sea (Doctoral Program in History and Anthropology, University of Michigan, 2015; supervised by Farina Mir and Matthew Hull).
The Association of Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies is pleased to present its 2015 Graduate Paper Prize to ALEX BOODROOKAS for his paper “Law and Manumission in Oman and the Trucial Coast, 1925–32” (from an MA-level course on the Political Cultures of Empire co-taught by Fred Cooper, Jane Burbank, and Elizabeth Benton, Department of History, New York University, 2015). Mr Boodrookas is a PhD student in Middle Eastern History at NYU.
